Dr. Jamie Llanera was born in the Philippines before she moved to California in 1997 and has been a Bay Area local ever since. She attended UC Davis for her undergraduate studies and completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior. She earned her Doctorate of Optometry degree at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California where she graduated in the top 5% of her class and a member of the optometric honor society Beta Sigma Kappa for academic excellence. For additional enrichment, Dr. Llanera completed post-graduate residency training at the VA Central California Health System in Fresno, California with an emphasis in ocular disease and primary care. Dr. Llanera began working at The Optometry Center upon completion of her residency and is pleased to integrate her passion for preserving ocular health into her patient care. When not caring for her patients, Dr. Llanera enjoys weightlifting, playing video games or board games with her family and friends, and singing karaoke.
